One of the 12 Best Photography Workshops in the World – American Photo

Grown tired of predictable, clichéd wedding imagery? Seen enough of couples in concocted stances in backlit fields of weeds… lounging on landscape littering love seat… or posed at some old train station? Ready to attract forward-thinking clientele who view the excess pseudo-fashion imagery and over-the-top use of Photoshop as unwanted fakery? Want to attract sophisticated, self-defined clients who insist on organic goods including authenticity in their wedding photography? Then you’re ready for Conclave.

By Denis Reggie 2013-3This workshop is geared for both working and aspiring wedding photographers who long to identify, enhance and unleash their personal style – and to garner the confidence needed to succeed in the marketplace. Even those preparing for a first wedding assignment will find this experience a superb foundation before making the step up to professional status. Past events have attracted attendees from around the U.S. and beyond, with experience ranging from dozens of wedding assignments to those preparing for their very first. Conclave is designed to benefit photographers at any experience level by empowering attendees with the latest techniques and understanding of the changing market. ®Denis Reggie 2011-1Looking to finally master your on-camera flash? Look no further. Count on plenty of up-close and personal time in this exclusive setting. Previous Denis Reggie Conclaves have created lots of positive blog buzz and feedback from attendees… most every event has sold out.

Conclave always welcomes users of any equipment brand. You’ve read about the exciting Canon 5D Mark III camera, Canon 600EX-RT flash with built-in radio communication, and the completely redesigned and super sharp 24-70mm f/2.8L II lens… here’s your chance for a live, hands-on demonstration of this amazing camera and radio-equipped flash.
The workshop runs from 9:00 a.m. until approximately 7:30 p.m. on Day One, then wraps up by 4:00 p.m. on Day Two so plan your return flight after 6:30 p.m. from ATL airport. Conclave is packed with usable information, techniques and insight gained from a fascinating wedding photography career. This is a unique opportunity for discussion of your own work and goals with a recognized industry icon. The mission of Conclave is to save each participant years of trial-and-error to fast forward their own photography success story.

Day Two
begins with a look more of Denis’ images and a review of those taken during Day One as he demonstrates editing and workflow techniques with the latest version of Lightroom 4 including tips on getting the most from the program’s updated Develop module. Then it’s on to business principles and informal discussions geared to save you time as you plot your next career steps. We’ve made arrangements with nearby Courtyard Marriott hotel in the heart of Buckhead Atlanta for a $129/night rate for Conclave attendees for up to three nights surrounding the event; Wi-Fi is complimentary; hot breakfast options available under $10; our room block rate is limited (after July 1, please contact hotel directly for possible availability). Our staff will provide transfers between this hotel and workshop each day so rental car is not suggested. Consider a taxi from ATL airport to the hotel (around $45 each way) or, better yet, help save the environment and take our excellent MARTA train conveniently located right inside the airport adjacent to baggage claim. Purchase a ticket – called a “Breeze Card” – for $2.50 plus a $1.00 card fee for the 30 minute trip to the Buckhead station on the Red line (also called “North Springs” train). Courtyard Marriott is an easy 150 yard walk from the Buckhead MARTA station.

If you’re ready to supercharge your career, put this enlightening Conclave experience in your calendar.
